Help Therapy takes care of your billing! However, it is important for us to know which procedures were done with your clients to process this. That is why we created the billing sheets that you send in.
Method 1: Submit Billing Sheet Via Excel or PDF to Billing@helptherapy.com
You will use a separate excel doc from your regular therapy sessions to bill for Psych Evaluations. If you are also doing therapy, feel free to reference the codes and include them on your normal spreadsheet.
You will find the excel/pdf document attached. This should be sent to billing@helptherapy.com as normal.
This video will walk you through how to submit your billing using the billing sheet. You will find the CPT codes and definitions discussed in more detail below the video.
Please make sure you are turning in your billing sheet at the end of each week for timely filing purposes!

Here are the optional codes for your reference. If you bill any codes outside of this list, you can include them under the column "Additional CPT Codes" on the billing sheet.
Coding Guidelines
1. Typically you will indicate the 90791 code for the evaluation and interview with your client.
2. If you administered any tests with the client directly (i.e. Anxiety Inventory, Depression Scale, etc), you will check code 96136
3. For the time spent looking at the results, evaluating the clients Interview/chart notes, scoring the testing, determining the clients outcomes and writing up your report, you will use code 96130 for the first hour spent doing this
4. If you spent additional hours on the above ^ tasks, you will use 96131 for each additional hour
Optional Step 5: If you administered any individual screenings (depression, alcohol, substance abuse etc), you will use the G codes listed above.
Other Notes:
Crisis Codes (90839, 90840) should only be used for individuals you are working with who are currently in crisis. Please use your clinical judgement on these codes.
Interactive Complexity (90785) is an add-on code specific for psychiatric services and refers to communication difficulties during the psychiatric procedure. Add-on codes may only be reported in conjunction with other codes, never alone. The specific communication difficulties are present with patients who typically: 1. Have other individuals legally responsible for their care, such as minors or adults with guardians, or 2. Request others to be involved in their care during the visit, such as adults accompanied by one or more participating family members or interpreter or language translator, or 3. Require the involvement of other third parties, such as child welfare agencies, parole or probation officers, or schools.
Health/Behavioral Assessment Codes (96150/96151) should only be used for patients without a mental health diagnosis. These codes largely apply to those that are coming to you for psychotherapy.
